So I’ve heard… It is a common issue I hear and relate with since most clothing companies cater to guys that are taller than 5’8, but there are a few things I’ve found helpful for dressing in a way that makes me feel my best: 1. Fit is key. There are some brands that make ready-to-wear clothing specifically for shorter guys. Outside of that, I will shop at my favorite stores and get my clothing altered by a tailor. Pants especially. 2: If I can help it, I don’t wear a belt as it’ll visually cut me in half and I’d prefer to keep a streamlined visual between the top and bottom of my outfit. How to Dress Better As A Short Guy: Part 1. This is the first video in a series I’ll be making about some of the best dressing tips that I feel help optimize my outfits a shorter guy (5’6 or 167cm). Tip: I don’t cut myself in half horizontally with contrast. So long as a jacket fits you in the shoulders and pants fit you in the waist, a tailor can alter almost any piece of clothing to fit your body. For more minor alterations like hemming or tapering the legs on pants, I like to take them to a dry cleaner that also offers alterations. I would just make sure that the first piece of clothing you take to a new tailor you are trying out isn’t your most valuable and to look up the reviews of the place before you hand your clothes over. In part 3, I’ll talk about color theory. Instead of This, Try This: Fall Edition Part 1. This is the first video in a series I’ll be making about some quick and easy swaps you can use to optimize your outfits during the fall or autumn. When dressing for fall, a lot of us default to what is comfortable - styles you’ve worn since college, high school or even earlier. I’ve always found that little bit of intention to how you’re dressing goes a long way. Instead of a plaid shirt, skinny jeans, and white sneakers, grab a solid wool knit, a straight leg or wider leg pant and loafers.
